Our beautiful lodge is in the heart of the African bush and provides the perfect escape for those seeking adventure and relaxation. Situated in Sterkrivier, Limpopo near Mokopane (previously Potgietersrus) we offer 4 luxury suites that will take your breath away with beautiful uninterrupted views of the mountains and the peace that surrounds you.
OUR ACCOMMODATION
Our accommodation options are designed to provide you with a comfortable and memorable stay. We have a range of rooms, each uniquely decorated to showcase the beauty of African décor. Each suite can accommodate two guests and can be booked individually or together.
The rooms are spacious, and each include an en-suite bathroom with a large bath, shower, basin and toilet. You may choose either a King size bed or two single beds.
All linen, towels and amenities are provided.
Beverages
Each suite has an area with a bar fridge, tea and coffee making facilities, even a coffee plunger. Cups, saucers, and wine glasses are provided, and if you wish to eat in your room please ask the manager, and we will provide a tray with plates, cutlery, condiments.
PATIO
Large stacking doors in each suite lead out onto your own private patio with two chairs and a table, offering uninterrupted views of the surroundings and the mountains. Here, guests can relax in comfort and hopefully spot a variety of buck and birds.
Wi-Fi
Wi-Fi is available throughout the Lodge.
In addition, there is a chair and table and a desk, a hairdryer, a ceiling fan, air-conditioning and a TV with access to Netflix.
Hot Tub
Two of the suites have a wood fired hot tub on their patios – perfect for moon gazing or an afternoon idyll.

Whether you are escaping into the wilderness for a peaceful retreat or embarking on a thrilling adventure, our lodge rooms are the perfect sanctuary to rest, rejuvenate, and create unforgettable memories.

OUR FACILITY
Our property is situated in an estate called Legend Golf & Safari Resort.
For peace of mind, the estate offers excellent security at the Main Entrance as well as mobile security guards who roam throughout the estate on bicycles 24/7.
The estate has a golf course that is currently not functioning, but you can walk or drive up to it. There is a clubhouse that offers meals and drinks on weekends – our manager will be able to advise you on their opening times.
However, although you can’t play golf, the golf course is open for walking and cycling – there is a path all the way around and the scenery is magnificent.
There are buck and monkeys that roam around, but nothing that is dangerous – there is a fence between us and the Entabeni Private Game Reserve. The Game Reserve is home to the Big Five, and we encourage you to do at least one game drive during your stay with us.
The Suites and the Main House are connected via a landscaped walk and the parking area – parking is free.
The Main House has a braai area, an outside living area with sofas and tables set up for dining and coffees and teas.
Please ask for blankets and hot water bottles if the weather is a bit chilly!
When the weather is much colder, we will set up tables inside for dining.
The Living Room is available for guests with a small selection of books, TV / DSTV, board games, cards, dominoes.
Each suite and the Main House at Sofala Lodge have Solar Panels and batteries, and in addition, for extended load shedding, there is a large generator.
This ensures that we always have electricity.

The bush is full of adventure waiting to be explored! We offer a range of activities that allow you to get up and close with the African wildlife. Our activities include guided game drives, nature walks, bird watching, and cultural tours.
The knowledgeable staff at Entabeni will ensure you have an unforgettable experience.
Horse Riding
Horse riding brings you joy and a sense of connection with nature. As riders mount their majestic steeds, a sense of freedom washes over them, leaving behind the worries of everyday life. Spa Treatments

Choose the picnic option that will be best for you. Enjoy it either at the lodge or in the nature reserve on the banks of a river with a canopy of tangled trees overhead making your time together unique. Or even try a picnic at the lookout point on the cliff. The choice is yours – moments like these with loved ones is what we treasure.

OUR DINING ROOM
We have a dining room exclusively for our guests that provides traditional food prepared by our local chefs –
- An extensive full breakfast which is included in the price of the accommodation.
- We offer a light lunch at an additional cost per person.
- A three-course evening menu is available on the patio under the stars for an additional cost.
BRAAI AREA
If you would like to braai yourself, please ask the Manager and we will arrange this for you.
You can decide how much involvement you would like from us – we can start the fire, braai, supply the meat, supply the salads, setup a beautiful table with candles and lanterns.
Or you can do it all yourself!
We are not a self-catering establishment, but we will supply you with plates, cutlery, and condiments if you bring your own meals. There are no cooking facilities for use by guests except for the Braai Area.
We have 3 dinner menus, and we generally stick to them, however if you would like to mix and match, please ask in advance and we can perhaps accommodate you.
We cater for vegetarians, and various other allergies. Please notify the manager by WhatsApp before you arrive so that we can make arrangements.

We are child friendly and can certainly put an extra single bed into the suite.

No pets are allowed as there are buck and monkeys roaming around.

We have a credit card machine to take payments for Game Drives, meals etc.
Smoking
Smoking is not allowed in the rooms, but you can smoke outside. Please be considerate to other guests.
Parties
We prefer parties only when you have booked out all the suites as most guests prefer the absolute peace
Fire
Please be careful with smoking and don’t light a fire unless in the specified area. It is really dangerous with the wild grass.
Cancellation Policy
We don’t allow cancellations; however, we are very happy to change your booking to a date that is more convenient for you.

There are animals that roam around the Lodge – Please don’t feed them!
